i have a raptor 30 with the hitec eclipse 7 and a jr g460t tail lock gyro.
i am trying to avoid using trim on my tail rotor with no luck....
i have to use about 5% left trim for it to stay straight...
i have tried to adjust this mechanically with no luck or difference in amount of trim needed to stay straight...
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

From everything I've learned and tried, I would not accept the unit. I would sent it back, and purchase something else. Though this may be an "accepted" trait of the gyro, it should not be acceptable to you.
Most people use a Futaba 401 which has no bad traits. Why suffer with a substandard unit. Return it and find something else.

I have gone through a similar expierience with gyros.
Buy the Futaba 401 it's way cheaper in the long run and it works perfectly with the eclipse radio. You should be able to get one for around $135 without a servo if you shop around. All you have to do to set the 401 is check the direction per the instructions, set your channel 7 atv's to 63% in both the up(normal) and down(HH) modes. Set the neutral position in normal mode to give 4.1mm spacing @ the tailcase. turn the heli on in HH mode to initialize and fly. Use a little delay if your servo is slow and buy a 9253 when you can.

i am a big JR fan, but i will NEVER touch a JR gyro again. call JR and be consistent and you might be able to return the gyro and get a futaba. i returned four 550T's and servos for a full refund - took a little work though
- and now i am flying one 401 two 502 and one 601 for the same money and i am a happy camper...
