Default Digital servo for steering?

I'm looking for a new high torque steering servo for my T-Maxx. I'm still using the stock radio that came with the truck but planning on replacing the radio soon. I want a servo that I can use now but also use with whatever new radio I get. I think I know where I can pick up a used JR DZ8550 servo fairly cheap. Here are the specs.

Specifications
Torque: 188 oz/in at 6V
Speed: .15 sec/60 degrees at 6V
Dimensions: 0.73 x 1.52 x 1.32in
Weight: 1.92 oz
Bearing: Dual
Motor Type: Coreless
Gears: Alloy Metal

My first question is would this be a good steering servo because I've heard people say not to use a digital servos for steering? Not sure why?

Next question is can I use a digital servo with the stock radio and receiver?

Thanks
