I don't know if they still exist, but there used to be a pretty good selection of .25 powered sport planes out there, with wingspans in the 48" range. There was a Tiger in that size I think, and quite a few others. I'm not sure they didn't all become extinct, but if you look around you might find something.

You may just have to leave a trainer at home, then just about any of the .40 size sport planes should be ok. Though be aware that the dimenstions can vary a lot. A Funtana 40, for example, has a much bigger fuse than your typical trainer, and the wing chord is a lot bigger and the wing is much thicker, but the wingspan is noticeably shorter. Most of the typical good 2nd planes, however, are pretty close to trainers in size and shape, just low wing instead of high wing.
