Hey, thanks again C H... I pinned the firewall when I built it, and put a fillet of epoxy all the way around the inside.
I had kinda decided on the ST .90 because I decided to use the Saito 1.00 in my H9 P-51 (believe you've got one of those too, don't ya?) but I also have a .61FX, or a Webra Speed .61 (decisions decisions)
Friend of mine has a Fitzpatrick .61 in his, but he's got a 13x6 on it, so it doesn't really go to it's full potential.(he's 70 something and he says it's fast enough fo him just the way it is)
I am going to 'glass the center section, and I think the split elev. pushrod is a good idea. Did you pin the hinges? I'm not sure exactly how they're held in there, ya know?! Are they all metal and will they hold up o.k.?
Gotta do something with the gear for peace of mind sake, and because we occaisonally fly off of grass...
I agree with ya about the way it flys! Mine is VERY responsive with the Webra .50, 'cause it's so light and the C.G. is on the recommended aft limit. It still "grooves" very nicely though, and when I fly it everybody stays down and watches 'cause it's an impressive looking plane. (especially when I make a pass right down the runway WFO )
