All you have to do is take your rotary tool with a cutting wheel and cut very shallow groves in the backing plate.
That might work with wood since as you tighten it, the wood will conform and push into the grooves. The harder hub on a carbon prop won't do that. It needs a more aggressive raised knurling that will bite into the prop.
