Every buggy has its own problems. You cant avoid that. Should there be a buggy that is completely perfect, I will definitely spend the extra shillings to get the buggy.

The PRP Swift is definitely a thumbs down in my oppinion as well. One person I know of that I bashed around with at my track despised the buggy. Parts were the biggest issue. It took him forever to get his parts. So he literally trashed it and bought an Ofna Hyper 7.

The Mayhem RTR costs 520 - 530 US dollars, and sometimes less on Ebay, should you be lucky enough to find the deal. The Mayhem Pro is your best avenue to go by and costs approximately 400 US dollars. But that is excluding radio and other starting equipment needed. It may cost more in the beginning, but in the long run, you will save more. You should keep that in mind when you purchase R/C vehicles. Don't think what is good now, think what is good from now till "I feel like I need something better." You will pat yourself on the back when you do decide to get that next buggy!

In all honesty, I would suggest doing more research than reading magazines. RC Driver is a good source to read about R/Cs as are forums.
