Default RE: Which hinges should I use?

CA hinges are usually pretty good. As Primodos stated, if the plane is an EXTREME PLANE using a 1.20 or larger 2 stroke, I would go with a pinned hinge or hinge points.

The problem is MOST people do not know the PROPER way to install a CA hinge. The proper way to install them is to drill a small hole in the center of the hinge slot. Then you put the CA hinges in place and flex the surface. Apply 3 - 4 drops of THIN CA to EACH SIDE of the hinge. The hole is the secret. It allows the CA to penetrate the wood AND hinge completely. Without the hole you frequently do not get complete penetration of the CA.
