RE: Mini or Micro brushless motors
Okay, took 22 days to get my replacement on the CD rom motor. Wired it up and off to the field I go. The setup called for a 8/4.3 prop, direct. The best I could do was a 9/4.7 cut down to 8 inches. Vertical right out of hand. The 4.7 pitch proved to be a little too fast for the Mini Pigi. Now the diameter must be something different, as I used up the battery, 340 mAh 3 cell Lipo, in about 5 minutes. The motor was very hot. Second flight it came back in under three minutes. Now back at the shop, I noticed that the magnets do not have the bite that they once did. The motor now turns slowly in a jerky manner and smells like a H.O. train. Does heat effect the magnets? Oh well, back to the drawing board. I better look into that small Nippy Black. Joe
