I use .070 inch carbon rod. At the control horn end, I just glue a mini nylon clevis to the rod using Gorilla glue.
At the servo end, I glue a short piece of inner nyrod to the rod, then use a short piece of 2-56 threaded rod or a cut off bolt and thread another mini clevis on for adjustment.
