WD40 is great stuff but it has solvents in it so I would not use it for the air filter, go to the local motorcycle shop and pick up a can of air filter oil, I use dish soap to clean the filter let dry completely if you have 3 or 4 foams put them in a baggy with some oil and squeeze them together with the oil in the bag.
