We have a gravel runway. I used regular wheels because they looked nicer but they pushed the gravel ahead and it couldn't get off the ground. Went to foam wheels because they had a flat surface that contacts the ground. Just rode up and over the bumps. Wheels aren't the difference in smooth landings. The nut that holds the sticks causes the bumps.
