We once had a fun fly on a day where the weather service was reporting 42 to 45 mph gusts and a home made wind speed gauge was showing over 50 at the field. 14 of us flew 3 events, and nobody crashed. My plane was the smallest, a 49" span flat bottom winged 15 powered scratch built job. Would sometimes fly backward at full throttle.
