I guess it depends on how patient you are and how skilled you are. I think Proctor kits are excellent, but they require a lot of tedious detail work which I happen to enjoy. I'm speaking based on the two Nieuport 28's I built which are the only Proctor kits I've built.

One thing I think you should do is sand every single piece including the sticks before you glue anything. They will look a lot nicer than having fuzzy sticks inside the structure that get fuzzier when you paint them.
