RE: Your Battery choice for electric (F3A) pattern???
Hi,
I am using LMT - Lehner setup in ZNLine Synergy.
I think the battery selection is based on the plane and personal requirements. If the plane is heavy or you prefer flying with power you will need battery that can deliver a lot of current with high voltage to have enough power.
If the plane is very light then you are able to use smaller C-rated and capasity cells because light plane does not need so much total energy to complete the schedule than heavy plane.
Based on that I am using Kokam 2000mAh cells as 10s2p, the pack weight is 1100g.
Motor is 2230/15+superchief gearbox 6:1
Prop is 17.4*12 RASA turning 7500rpm on ground with 69A.
Plane weight is 4450g.
P-05 schedule will consume around 3300-3400mAh which was unusually high. After that the motor+gearbox went to service and they found faulty bearing in the motor which was replaced with no additional cost. I expect that after the service the consumed capasity will be lower and prop RPM to be higher or current lower. After flight the battery temperature is lower than hand warm.
