Default ys 120nc trouble in the midrange

Hope someone can help? I have an older 120nc which i sent in for repair this spring (new cylinder- new head-piston ect ...) Got it back and installed it in my p47 flew the plane 5 times with this engine and landed 5 times deadstick.
The engine can idle at 2100rpm for ever and full throttle on an apc 15 x 8 is 9300rpm and will run at full throttle all day. Transition from idle to full throttle is very smooth the problem is 6000rpm to 7500 rpm
if i leave the throttle in that range for 20 seconds or so the engine eventually quits and even if i play with the throttle back and forth at this point it does not make a difference it slowly dies down and stops running ,is it possible it is some how flooding in that rpm range should i try opening or closing the regulator or will this effect the idle? ANY COMMENTS??????????? PLEASE
