Re-engineer? I just received mine a couple days ago and didn't take a good look at it, but I'd hardly call the lack of supplied information "re-engineering". Seriously, I think trying to figure out where to put a receiver and battery pack on your own isn't that big of a deal.
As far as CG. While I agree it would have been nice to have a "number", isn't the range always 25-30% of the chord- measured at the fuse- back from the leading edge on an aerobatic plane? Or at least a good starting point?
As far as the hardware pack. This comes up with almost every plane and it seems the included hardware, in those planes, is almost always "good enough", but most people upgrade due to personal preference.
Of course I reserve the right to be totally wrong about all of this once I get my hands on it
