Don't know why everyone is so scared of balance. It matters not if its right side up or down. BALANCE IS BALANCE. The only difference is how quickly is will tip to the heavy side. If you use this method it will come out perfect. I locate the balance point and mark it on the body of the plane. I place a 1 1/2" BY 24" peice of pipe on a tall box and place the body on the pipe. Because the pipe is round and hard the body will tip in the heavy direction right away. Simply roll the pipe foward or back on the body until it balances and see if it aligns with your mark.
