Yes Alex under 424 APRA rules the TT .40Pro is the engine of choice, not the GP. the mandatory propellor is APC 9X6. APRA which stands for Arizona Pylon Racing Association are the rules used in california, Arizona and I beleve Oregon. This is the appropriate beginer class for pylon. These rules are only slightly modified from the AMA 424 rules one item of which APRA provides a racing handicap for new flyers so the can be competitive with oldtimers. There are other minor differances but nothing of much import such as the engine claiming rule which I think still exists although I,ve never seen it acturally done. I would be delighted to sell my old eighty dollar TT's for a hundred.
You are lucky in that you are near one of the hotbeds of pylon activity in the country. Do make every effort to attend the December club race at Speedworld. These races exist primarily just to help new folks get started and there is one almost every month.
