Futaba receivers come in two flavors. One for high frequencies and one for low. I believe the cutoff is at channel 35. If I remember the high frequency receivers have a red dot on the pc board, where you can see it without removing the case.

If you have a receiver that is set up for the low frequencies and have a channel 42 crystal in it I guess it could result in the receiver not working.
