Default RE: Election RESULTS

Well, first, speaking as a state elected official and an intelligent man despite your remark to the contrary, the voter apathy is quite widespread in DI. I do not know that I would be able to say that it is greater than that of DV, simply because I would not have anyway of knowing that. What I can say is that when you have been under the whale long enough, you stop fighting when your lungs are crushed. Fortunately we killed the Whale in DI.
As an elected official I can tell you that a 2:1 victory is somewhat of a mandate, but given all the other changes made in this election and the fact that 30-50 poercent of all votes cast will in fact go to an incumbant by default the victory is less overwhelming, but I am not telling you anything any intelligent person does not already know. Looking just at DB's victory alone does not tell the whole story. If I win an election by any margin, but others in lesser positions are removed, especially after being in a position for 10 plus years, the first thought is uh oh the winds of change are blowing. The whole picture tells the tale. Do I honestly think DB will change....that I don't know. Would I like to think he will see the whole picture, yes I would. But as I mentioned previousley, only time will tell.
