Gloster Javelin
Hi,
Just a short note to inform you that there is also a plan of the Gloster Javelin which is also available from Traplet Publications UK-publishers of the RCJI magazine.
If not mistaken the wingspan of this plane is around 96" so for the sun blessed people may use it also as a sun shade when in the pits! This plane was originally powered by two ducted fan engines but with a 28lb turbine one might get a good performance too but of course one needs to modify the intakes and exhaust outlet.
The designer of this plane is non other than Steve Rickett. If anybody would wish to see a write-up of this plan one can see it in the June/July 2000 and September/October 2000 edition of RCJI. I believe that Unitracts (in England) manufacture the landing gear for this plane and cockpit is also available from Traplet.
A good book on the Gloster Javelin would be the WARPAINT series of books and if you browse around the net you will be able to locate some very good walkrounds of this plane.
