I often fly my Friends Javelin for him and I must say that it is a totally enjoyable plane to fly. He has changed the tail incidence from the kit and moved the CG as standard it felt very heavy on the elevator when landing. Also we fitted a gyro on the nose wheel a while ago this makes a big difference to the ground handling.
All in all a really easy and pleasant plane to fly.
I say a Mick reeves hunter last Friday that I believe to be one of the first from the molds. Looks great. I did not ask him when it was out for sale. Sorry

Hi,
Just a short note to inform you that there is also a plan of the Gloster Javelin which is also available from Traplet Publications UK-publishers of the RCJI magazine.
If not mistaken the wingspan of this plane is around 96" so for the sun blessed people may use it also as a sun shade when in the pits! This plane was originally powered by two ducted fan engines but with a 28lb turbine one might get a good performance too but of course one needs to modify the intakes and exhaust outlet.
The designer of this plane is non other than Steve Rickett. If anybody would wish to see a write-up of this plan one can see it in the June/July 2000 and September/October 2000 edition of RCJI. I believe that Unitracts (in England) manufacture the landing gear for this plane and cockpit is also available from Traplet.
A good book on the Gloster Javelin would be the WARPAINT series of books and if you browse around the net you will be able to locate some very good walkrounds of this plane.

Few minutes ago,i read the article of D.Rickettīs Gloster Javelin in RCJI.
Itīs an breathtaking aircraft, but too big for me.
The MR kit has exact the right size....for my car and my turbine.
Ha a nice evening,Julian

Hi Mike,
Like Ali, I too inspected the first of Mick's Hunter fuselages at the Abingdon Classic Jets meeting last week. The quality of the moulding matched that of the Lightning I took delivery of - excellent! Plenty of detailing scribed into a super smooth surface.
Mick told me that, now he has the Lightning kit production line up to full speed, he was about to start in earnest with the Hunter and anticipated a kit release date of November(ish) this year. Having said that, Mick did add that this date was subject to the variables and delays that could be caused by the other parts of his business - which I read as meaning that November could be on the optomistic side! Whatever, you can guarantee receipt of a kit that will build into a very good scale model and, in the case of the Hunter, without doubt the finest shape jet that has ever been produced!
Cheers,
Dick

Hi Chris,
Yes, the Lightning is good - so much so that I'm thinking about putting my Swallow aside and doing the Lightning first!!
So, you beat me to the Hunter then!! You'll not be disappointed, Chris - it's in a class of its own...the best looking jet ever.
Take it easy mate,
Cheers,
Dick
