RE: Sig 4 Star 40 Mods
Hi Swag.
Update on my Four Star 40. It has been flying just great. I still tend to bounce the landings a bit, not much, but it's different than flying the Tiger 60 which seems to land like it gets sucked onto the landing surface just as smooth as silk (monocoat..ha). The Four Star glides in very nicely, but at flare time, I tend to over land it and it lightly bounces a couple times, something I imagine that I will improve as time goes on.
The engine, an OS46 runs just fine and pulls it along just nicely. On the maiden, a friend Syd Clement of Millville, NJ flew it. He is one of the local pro's and put it through it's paces. He lifted off, trimmed (minimal trim necessary) then climbed up and did these sort of horizontal loops with mixed with very fast aileron rolls then switched to the same thing in the vertical (made me dizzy), then dove it straight down, transitioned to straight up, and landed it, handed me the box and said "Flys good, the fuel system works good to". Jeech.. but I was very pleased with it.
I had to make some minor adjustments to the throttle control, but other than that, it flys just great.
Thanks for the input and for all the help.
I just bought a CG Skylark 56 ARF. Building it now, seems like a nice ARF. Will report on that when I finish.
Dick.
