RE: In the doghouse...
It's a balancing act. Over the years my wife has noticed how much better my mood is if I'm spending a little time on my airplanes. I also live in a 230 year old house and have 2 young daughters (and my mom lives with us). Going out and flying every weekend would be out of the question. However, I enjoy building as much as flying. One of the great tings about building is you can spend very small amounts of time each day doing it. Sometimes just 15 minutes of sanding and glueing are all I need to feel I have accomplished something enjoyable.
Over the years, my wife has seen that my hobby is a positive thing and not a threat in any way, so now I can buy just about whatever I want with no comment. Just takes patience.
However, she still has absolutely no interest in the hobby.
