In addition to the advice already given, be advised that your model may not exactly match the drawings showing the panel lines. This happens because typically your model is not 100% scale in all respects. When this happens you need to make "adjustment" on your plane to get the layout to appear correct. A little artistic license works here if you understand my meaning. Aside from that, panel lines are one of the easier things you can do to spruce up your plane.
