Default RE: Jack Bales Plans

Hello, I believe he died a while ago. I heard some talk about someone buying his designs but nothing after that. I'm not sure about these "facts" so someone may be able to answer better than I.

I did however purchase a copy of the XP-54 plans a while back. I have to say, they are not good. They might be good for a three view, I don't know. I can't remember all the things I did not like but here is one: There is no detail showing the wing/fuse joint or the boom to wing joint.

If I had to guess, he never made a model using these plans, it would be interesting if anyone else ever has... I thought the swoose goose would be a cool model to make since you never see one and they are sweet looking (I think). But I think I am going to need to design my own if I ever want to get one flying. I did order some cool stuff from the National Air and Space Archives. In particular they sent me some photo copies of documents they have and extra stuff that I could buy like three views and what not.

Also, [link=http://www.collectaire.com/modelpages/xp54/xp54.html]CollectAire[/link] has a resin model that might be helpful if you design your own.

Scott.
