Hi Guys,
I was just wondering whatever happened to Jack Bales plans... did anyone ever start re-supplying them? There is a web-site still up ([link]http://web.dreamsoft.com/jackbale/index2.htm[/link]) but I believe nobody (inc. me) has had any response from the e-mail address given.
I'm specifically looking for the 1/12 scale XP-54 'Swoose Goose' design if anyone has a copy gathering dust that they don't want
Thanks in advance for any help!
Blue
P.S. Apologies for posting this in another forum but I didn't know where would be best [sm=frown.gif]

Hello, I believe he died a while ago. I heard some talk about someone buying his designs but nothing after that. I'm not sure about these "facts" so someone may be able to answer better than I.
I did however purchase a copy of the XP-54 plans a while back. I have to say, they are not good. They might be good for a three view, I don't know. I can't remember all the things I did not like but here is one: There is no detail showing the wing/fuse joint or the boom to wing joint.
If I had to guess, he never made a model using these plans, it would be interesting if anyone else ever has... I thought the swoose goose would be a cool model to make since you never see one and they are sweet looking (I think). But I think I am going to need to design my own if I ever want to get one flying. I did order some cool stuff from the National Air and Space Archives. In particular they sent me some photo copies of documents they have and extra stuff that I could buy like three views and what not.
Use this link:

Also, [link=http://www.collectaire.com/modelpages/xp54/xp54.html]CollectAire[/link] has a resin model that might be helpful if you design your own.
Scott.

Hi Scott,
Many thanks for your reply and the NASM link! [sm=thumbup.gif]
Yeah, I also think the Swoose Goose is a cool design and would be something very different at the field. Unfortunately I don't know if I have the skills required to design my own version so it looks as though it will have to remain a dream for a while [sm=frown.gif].
Cheers,

Try this link http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/p54.html
Its a Russian site that has a pretty good 3-view of the xp-54 in jpg format. Has some x-sections & wing chords. Might be able to piece together a set of plans from it.
