Default RE: Electric Combat??

Sheepy........ The way we are handling those issues are as follows:

Wingspan: 28" or more, with no sq/in stipulations, which would allow for the GWS warbirds.
Motors: Any 300 size brushed motor qualifies. Our thinking is to keep things affordable. The more affordable the more pilots and planes to promote the sport. Brushless riggs create a whole other can of worms. Adds expense, almost impossible to correctly class and unnecessary for a fun event.
Build Time: We are using a scale like airframe that builds out in under two hours and free plans are posted on the thread I posted above. Free is cheap.
Open Class: We are flying 300 size brushed motors with a 3s lipo pack for this. That combo gives brushless class performance. Eventually it destroys the motor, so many of us are using the Johnson motor @ $1.00 each. The 2s lipo heats have a lot more entrants because everyone has 3 to 6 2s packs and only a few so far have multiple 3s packs. Again this to adds a lot of expense and keeps people out. What say you?[:-]

I love the smell of lipos
in the mornings!
