No, I'm not joking. Show me a 90mph electric COMBAT plane.
As a general rule I would agree that there are not many electric combats that can reach the speeds. However, for anyone who is interested, my XE Combat Wing was clocked with a police radar gun at 84mph. Not quite 90, but damn close enough for me.
My wing bounces off everything and just keeps flying like nothing happened. Plus it will out maneuver any of my gas planes, and when you want to land you can just catch it or let the dog chase it and bring it back. Good clean fun. The joy of 100% EPP foam.

4 years ago when i was 10 i had very little money because i had to pay for gas to run my 2 glow planes. And when the people at my field 400 sized zaggy wing combat i was able to get one because they were only $150 with all the servos and stuff. All it needed was a transmitter. It was so cool. even though i was the worst one there it was so much fun. They did'nt go fast but they did the job.

Mini XE "LiPO Edition"

The Mini XE "LiPO Edition" is basically the same wing with a few modifications to handle the added power of a brushless motor and LiPO batteries. The compact and powerful design will fly almost anywhere and can reach speeds over 120mph.

This is an ad for a wing from combatwings.com. It goes 30mph faster than your piece of junk.
Jerk.

I think maybe there might be an unspoken challenge here. Maybe a contest between a gas and an electric, with to pilots of roughly equal skill? Just to be fair, no limits on motors or airframes?

That's right, hide behind your stupid smiley faces. You just feel insecure because our planes go faster than yours, yet they are viewed as "less manly" by the majority of combat fliers because they don't have a huge engine propelling them. You say our planes are a joke, I say your planes are just a waste of money.

That competition thing that beldraak was talking about would be a good idea.
