Default RE: Help With Gyro Setup!!!

Thanks Brian,

I looked at that one also, but I'm leaning towards the dual gain. I'm putting it in a Yellow Stingray. The situation is opposite of RAMFlyer's though, as I'm looking for in-flight stability. With the nose steering and rudder on a low rate, its quite manageable on takeoff / landing roll. I figure adding a gyro couldn't hurt in either condition though, so having independent gains might prove handy...

RAMFlyer, I don't think I understand your concern since adding a gyro should be independent of the model or brand of radio. I fly with a Futaba 8UAP, but the setup should be the same. I'd simply put a Y-harness on the channel that controls the retract valve servo, also connecting that channel to the rate switch function on the gyro. The other gyro input would then go to the rudder channel output on the RX (or whatever channel you're mixing to control the servo running the nose steering) and the gyro output would run to the servo that controls the function that you with to stabilize.
