Yes, I put the elevator servo as far back in the canopy compartment as I could, along with the receiver and battery, because the plane came out quite nose heavy. I installed a Webra 1.45 which is lighter than the YS used on the plans and I did not put the servos in the stab. So I had to add weight to the tail; about 1.5 - 2oz. Since it is properly balanced like this, I had no cg issues. But it broke my heart to have to add weight! However, it still came in at 10lb 4oz and the Webra gives it unlimited vertical performance.
Plan ahead! It's probably best to put the servos in the stab or, as some have done, move the wing forward 3/4" - 1" to avoid having to add weight to the tail.
I'm building a Tempest now and the servos will go in the stab.
