RE: seagull space walker
Minnflyer covers the plane well with the review. However, I have a few additional tips:
1. The stock foam wheels wear like crazy on a paved runway. I got 5 landings on them before they were junked. I went to Dubro wheels and haven't had any trouble since.
2. I used a OS 52 4 stroke on mine and its plenty of power. Just like Minnflyer's my plane exhibits a pronounced pull to the left when throttling up rapidly. It's not bad, but just be aware its coming.
3. I personally thought the ground handling with the stock rudder throw was poor. I bumped up the rudder throws quite a bit and it calmed it down quite a bit. I found that it can be a bit tricky while the tail is down, so once you get it rolling, go ahead and bring it up to max rpm to get the tail up. Once the tail is up is steers like a champ. I have flown it a few times in strong crosswinds and it can be testy, so if you have some wind try a few practice taxis to get a feel for it.
4. May be a slight difference in models, but mine stalls fairly straight unless you try to hold the stall and then it will drop a wing. Do some stall testing with altitude and you'll be comfortable with the stall tendencies in no time. Mine strts to flounder a bit before the wing drops, so there is relatively good visual feedback.
Good luck,
Duke
