Default Big Thunderbird Question

ok, im hoping i havent completely screwed up my heli...

i was messing around when i got it, and flipped the inverter switch labeled "rudder" on the tx. it was labeled wrong and turned out to be the throttle inverter. my heli goes flying into the air and crashes into a bookcase, breaking a stabilizer...naturally i want to try and balance the heli so i break off the other one...i found out it is slightly possible to fly without stabilizers...this surprised me...the battery starts to go dead (i still hadnt charged it once, it had some charge right out of the box)...i charge it for 1/2 hour...being the impatient person that i am...put on the battery...try to fly, and the heli doesnt respond at all...the heli battery has plenty of charge to at least spin the rotors, and the tx batteries are good, so i dont know what the problem is...the heli DOES know when i turn on the tx, because the servos stop twitching when i turn the tx on...but the heli doesnt respond to tx commands...what the heck is going on here?

also whats the deal with the stabilizers...how well can the heli fly without them?
