Default Big Thunderbird Question

ok, im hoping i havent completely screwed up my heli...

i was messing around when i got it, and flipped the inverter switch labeled "rudder" on the tx. it was labeled wrong and turned out to be the throttle inverter. my heli goes flying into the air and crashes into a bookcase, breaking a stabilizer...naturally i want to try and balance the heli so i break off the other one...i found out it is slightly possible to fly without stabilizers...this surprised me...the battery starts to go dead (i still hadnt charged it once, it had some charge right out of the box)...i charge it for 1/2 hour...being the impatient person that i am...put on the battery...try to fly, and the heli doesnt respond at all...the heli battery has plenty of charge to at least spin the rotors, and the tx batteries are good, so i dont know what the problem is...the heli DOES know when i turn on the tx, because the servos stop twitching when i turn the tx on...but the heli doesnt respond to tx commands...what the heck is going on here?

also whats the deal with the stabilizers...how well can the heli fly without them?

omg, your poor bird.

Chances are it wont fly to well without them you will have limited control as the rotors are connected to the flybar via ball links

as for the battery....charge it first before thinking radio is bung! the wall chargers arent the best of chargers but they do their job if given time, nimh batterys like to run a little warm off the charger, i used to run 16nimh cells in a RC boat with a 700 motor, when you leave them to go cold/or dont charge them properly they just dont perform (im not talking getting them hot hot hot , just warm)

i guess thats possible, but it odesnt make sense to me...the batteries in the heli START to go dead so i charged the batteries...the rotors still spun and all, just not with enough power to lift off...so i dont understand why the rotors would spin fine...then i charge it for a half hour...then they dont spin...it doesnt add up...but whatever...ill try it out

You have to charge the standard pack for at least 2 hours to get it fully charged.
If you used your std pack straight out of the box without charging it first, you could have damaged the pack.
Have patience and charge it for 2 hours at least and then try again.
Also go to a kite shop and buy 2mm Carbon Fibre rod. And fix your flybar.

Cheers
