so it drops 1 volt every 100 seconds. if battery starts out at 5.8 it is down to 4.8 after 1.5 minutes, and down to 3.8 aftr 3.0 minutes at .5 amp load . unless voltmeter is damaged you are getting a true reading all the time . voltage should be steady after 1 minute, probably much sooner.
