I fly at a rough grass field and after I got into taildraggers I won't go back!! I don't have to worry about a nose wheel always getting wrenched out of position or bent. Talk to flyers at your field that fly both and they can tell you how it works for your field. I hit a gopher hole with one of the wheels on takeoff with my Hawker Sea Fury. The plane just bounced a bit on that one side and kept on going. If that was a nose wheel, it would have flipped the plane over!
