Hi Bud, Thanks for your reply. I took your advise on not adding down thrust on the DPM cub. I installed the engine on the fire wall where it belongs, in line with the cross hair lines. The cowel on my plane was not well drilled, only three of the four holes line up ok. The angle on the front of the cowel did not match the fire wall. With the engine installed, a small adjustment on the two holes on the bottom of the cowel brings everything in alignment.
I am not crazy about the top window being held by four small screws. I don't think it will hold up to much use. I made up a frame out of 1/4" brass strips soldered at the four corners and painted it with cub yellow enamel. The four small holes are now in the brass frame and will hold up to a lot of usage. Installed on the plane, it looks great. I will send pictures as soon as I can figure out how to put them on the air. How do you send pics?
