I would think it is a personal preference. Many people like dual rates and some do not want to be bothered with flipping the switches. I myself like to use one rate dialed in with a lot of expo to smooth things out . Have fun with the plane. I fly the Kyosho 40 size cap with a 61fx and is a total blast. It took a while to get used to the flying characteristics of the "Cap" but the more I fly it the more I like it.
