What you should do is pre-heat the engine first. Use a heat gun for airplane covering or even a hair dryer. This will expand the engine to the point that you should be able to turn it over with the box. Using a drill is not a good idea since you could damage the threads and kill the engine if there isn't a constant flow of oil.
