Default Engine choice for DP Ultimate?

I have had my DP for three years now and I have powered it with both a YS 1.20 and 1.40L. I started out with my 1.20 and then replaced it with the 1.40 for the start of this season. It flies great with both engines, but I was surprised to learn that I actually like the 1.20 better. Long story short, mid season I pulled the 1.40 for some maintenance and re-installed the 1.20. Since I do not have any lead added for balance I think the lighter 1.20 gives me a better balance point and the power difference is NOT as great as I would have thought.

Now back to your question. I don't think either motor pulls out of a hover with authority. BUT with such a light wing loading you don't need quite as much power to avoid scaring everyone including yourself.

You really can't beat the sound of the YS four-strock and torque delivery combination with this awesome airplane. I also think the YS consistent power delivery makes it easier to perform 3D type flying. When you need just a few clicks of power it's nice to know that it will be delivered each time consistently.
