No question if you want to go all out for 3D flying by all means get metal gear servos, fast servos, and plenty of torque.

It's only money, right?
One of my favorite quotes, BTW....metal gears are great until they start to get some slop and you have to buy a gear set..then they lose their shine. I have MG servos, but they ain't all that.

And you'll never see me replace any 9202's with a 225MG..the 225 ain't all that. Price and torque ratings are great...actual use will make the difference.

And I know Hitec has a great following among fliers who don't want to dish out the bucks for Futaba servos..and many are having great luck especially with the Hitec digitals, but hey..it's only money! If you shop around you can find Futaba digitals for prices that rival Hitec prices....but if you like the Hitecs then that is great. I use them in combat planes. I use Futabas in planes that (and helis)I want to keep around awhile.

I have always used Futaba stuff, and I have some JR stuff, and Hitec. But after beating the Heli boards for a while, I came to realize that these guys are very demanding of their servos. And almost none of the posters use or recommend Hitec...JR users are defecting in droves...and 3 guesses what they are using...

But hey! It's only money, Right??
