I can think of two things to check. Enter "control panel" and double click on "power options". set the scheme as "always on". Set turn off monitor, turn off hard disks & system standby to NEVER. Then close everything out. Then right click on an open space of your desktop and select "proporties" then select the screen saver tab then select "none". You may or may not have to re-boot for these changes to take effect. I hope this helps.
