RE: How are the planes in Reflex XTR?
Yes, if the plane won't tip stall, your sense of security is thrown out of wack. AFPD is menu friendly, but I want a sim that teaches me to be appropriately cautious as well as sharpening my skills. As far as 3D goes, yes, I am interested in that, but since 3D moves are done on the edge of a stall, how can you properly practice 3D if the plane won't stall? I believe both manufacturers will be tuning their physics as time goes. The updates are free in Reflex, but I don't know about AFPD. For now, I think it may be a matter of tuning our parameters, which is why I came looking here in the first place. If we make changes to the parameters, and we feel it helps a plane fly 3D better, or whatever we are trying to do, we need to share the changes. If the manufacturers felt that they had created the perfect sim, they probably would have locked us out of changing the parameters, or made very few changes available. Right out of the box, I feel Reflex is very accurate, but I have played with the CG a little to make the planes knife edge better. This, in turn has increased the possibility of a tip stall. That is real life! In addition, I have increased rudder and elevator throw on the download models to give me more authority, especially when hovering. To handle this, I have added more expo to my transmitter channels. Again, real life! To me, this is what we are striving for.
