sarge, to add on to what scott said. When you get a radio, get the Futaba 6 EXA. It is computerized and is 6 channels. I am looking to get one soon as i have already out grown my skysport 4 and when i get my next plane if i had a 6EXA i wouldnt need anothe rradio because the 6EXA can remember 6 of your planes. Its only about 50 bucks more than your regular sky sport but in the end will help ALOT. I wish i would have got my stuff seperate as you are doing. But, i would also see what scott said about the plane, go with a tower trainer. Or if you want to spend a little more and not have to "grow out" of the plane, go with the an aerobatic trainer such as the avistar from hobbico.
