OK, here's my thoughts. If I were you, I'd quit messing around with these ads and just go to someplace like Towerhobbies.com and order a trainer and engine from them.
Trainer -- I know nothing about the "Victory" trainer. It appears to be sort of an off-brand. What I do know is there are about 20 other trainers out there that have been established to be good trainers that are well put together. They are not much more than the trainer you are looking at. If you want to go low budget, try the Tower Trainer 40, for $69.99 [link]http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/towa1110.html[/link]
Engine -- Again, Megatech is not known for engines. I would avoid this one like the plague. Good bargain brands include Magnum and Thunder Tiger and probably some others. Ringed engines take a little longer to break in than ABC. They theoretically should last a little longer, although that's not all that big a deal. Supertigre makes a good ringed .40 that is $54.99 [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFV69&P=0]Here[/link]
If you get an order of $150 from Tower, you get some type of discount.
If you haven't already done it, I would start looking for someone local to help you out when you are ready to fly.

I agree, you've been burned by an ad before. If saving $10-$20 is that important, save up a little longer and get something you can trust from a reputable manufacturer. That way your investment is better protected and in the long run you'll end up sticking with the hobby instead of getting something you're not happy with or flies badly.
