Back in the days of seriously crappy ARF's, which I only took on as a challenge, I had no hesitation about pulling them apart and rebuilding where necessary, and engine mounting was a common area for modification. Now that ARF's have evolved somewhat I feel less need to do so, but I still wouldn't hesitate if I thought it would be an improvement worth the time and trouble to do it.
