Default Changing motor mount and firewall on a ARF

Just wanted to know if anybody had to change a motormount to fit a engine on a ARF, and if you need to change the firewall or just drill new holes...

Back in the days of seriously crappy ARF's, which I only took on as a challenge, I had no hesitation about pulling them apart and rebuilding where necessary, and engine mounting was a common area for modification. Now that ARF's have evolved somewhat I feel less need to do so, but I still wouldn't hesitate if I thought it would be an improvement worth the time and trouble to do it.

Default Mount

Just have to drill new holes,,, just try to keep the NEW Mount in the same "centered location" where the old mount use to be.

Also re-check CG before the next fly.

Hope that helps

Sure, do that all the time. If the new mounting holes are far enough away from the old ones, so the repositioned blind nuts have enough wood to bite into, then redrilling is all you need to do. If OTOH, the new hole overlap the old ones, you'll have to fill the old ones with epoxy before redrilling.

Thanks abunch, I think I can make those ideas work. I think the epoxy and saw dust would be the ideal fix, thanks again
