The trick to painting a plane is in light coats. Especially if using a Base/ Clear system. only use enough paint to provide coverage. Color choice also plays a part in wieght gain. Some colors cover in 2-3 light coats while others can take as much as 4-6. Also, a sealer applied to the primer coat will also aid in color coverage. The primer will not bleed through.
