Default RE: Avistar ARF Build

Good morning John;
one more thing came to my mind in the middle of the night (insomniac)
YOU CAN BALANCE THE WING THIS WEEK BEFORE SUNDAY
thusly :

take the wing and "balance" it , exactly on the center where the two halves meet
notice which side dips
on the wingtip of the heavy side you need to add the necessary weight to achieve a wing
that sit horizontal along the center support point.
the best/usual way to do this is to perforate a small drilled hole into the wingtip block and drop some tiny pellets, bb's or similar . Once the balance is reached, seal the hole to trap the weight with a drop of Epoxy.
sometimes I have driven a nail into the tip
sometimes a have taped a piece of lead weight ( LHS sells these in self stick strips at 1/4 oz each little section.)
whatever suits you
we need a BALANCED WING
later ?
RICK
ps see what insomnia leads to ? sheeeeeeeeeeeesh
