I would definitely advise you to start flying R/C helicopter with a computer simulation first unless you are not care about getting hurt of losing money or being injured yourself or others.

Depending on your budget and reality of the simulation you can purchase the Real Flight simulator http://www.realflight.com/ (kind of expensive) or download a free one from FMS (http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/).

Originally, I purchased one from CSM and used my JR X347 for practice, but it was way too long ago and helped me a lot. The Real Flight Simulator looks very nice, and I went to a hobby store to try, and it looks real. It also has the option for using your own remote controller http://www.realflight.com/interface.html.

DO NOT TRY TO FLY by yourself without a fly instructor, I learned the hard way.
